Adult Leadership

The 2010-2011 Adult Program schedule is now available! Click here to download it, or scroll down to view it.

Each month from August through May, class members participate in day-long learning sessions that focus on different key topics in our community.

The Advanced Leader Program
"My favorite experience with the Adult Program was going to regions that would not normally occur to me...to witness the real fiber of the county. Agriculture day is a prime example of seeing the unseen world of the migrant farm worker.  Cane burning was fascinating; the beauty of the soil and the richness of produce, along with the efficiency of harvesting brought a greater appreciation of the good earth."
Laurel Baker, Executive Director, Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce, Class of 2005

LPBC's Adult Leadership Program provides an opportunity for community leaders to participate in an adult learning environment that is interactive and promotes dialogue, teambuilding, and trust.

This program brings together, often for the first time, individuals who represent different dimensions of our communities. Each class embodies the diversity of geographic, ethnic and professional backgrounds in our community. Each year a select group of at least 45 individuals with a demonstrated commitment to community leadership is chosen to take part in an intensive ten-month experience. Following a weekend retreat which helps the class bond as a team, nine, day-long program sessions held monthly help participants explore core local issues in depth. The class members also work together to complete a project with local organizations in an identified area of need. Click here to download an overview of the 2009 Class Projects.

The Class of 2011 was selected in July 2010. Check back later in the year for Class of 2012 applications. They will be due by April 29, 2011. Recruiting and Information sessions will be held starting March 2011 (visit www.leadershippbc.org in the new year to register).

To be placed on LPBC's recruiting email list, email info@leadershippbc.org, and put Class of 2012 Candidate in the email header. Please see below for a list of graduates and program details.
