Leadership Palm Beach County is fortunate to have many dedicated alumni who offer their time and talent in support of our organization. As we prepare for LPBC's 31st year, we encourage you to consider offering your leadership through service on our Board of Governors or Executive Committee. The results of the election will be announced at our Board of Governors meeting on June 17, 2014.

 

LPBC Board of Governors Elections
The Leadership Palm Beach County Board is an active, policy-making body whose job is to ensure that our core programs (Leadership Program, Youth Leadership and FOCUS) along with our alumni programming are the best they can be.  In addition, the Board works to ensure the financial stability of the organization through implementation of special events and fundraising initiatives. Above all, the role of a LPBC Board Member is oversee and steward the mission of the organization, to: Educate and Unite Leaders to Build a Better Community.

There are six Board positions available, each for a two-year term beginning July 1, 2014, and endingJune 30, 2016.  Your participation as a Board member would serve to enhance your Leadership experience while expanding your support of this dynamic organization.

To be eligible as a candidate for the Board, you must meet the following basic requirements:  

1.  Alumnus/a in good standing with a desire to serve 

2.  Active service on a committee within the two fiscal years prior to the election

Please also note that our Board meetings are scheduled at 8 AM on the 3rd Tuesday of each month and last 60-90 minutes; attendance at these Board meetings is required.

If you are interested in serving as a candidate, please complete the online registration at LeadershipPBC.org/2014Elections by Friday, April 16, to indicate your interest and willingness to serve.  Upon receipt of this information, we will prepare a ballot for distribution to all active alumni for the election process. 

Executive Committee Elections 

Open only to current and past LPBC Board Members

To be eligible as a candidate for the Executive Committee, you must meet the following basic requirements:  

1.  Alumnus/a in good standing with a desire to serve 
2.  Active service on a committee within the two fiscal years prior to the election
3.  Have served on the Board of Governors and met the minimum attendance requirements during your term; or served as general counsel for at least two years

The Treasurer, 2nd VP and 1st VP positions are open for election to those who meet the above qualifications.  Kim Jones, the current 2nd VP has already expressed her interest in running for 1st VP and Nancy Proffitt, the current Treasurer, has already expressed her interest in running for 2nd VP.  The standing Board of Governors will vote by secret ballot to elect the new Executive Committee.

If you are interested in running for Treasurer, 2nd Vice President or 1st Vice President, please send written notice to the LPBC office expressing your intent to run, and clarifying the office which you seek. You may only seek election to one office.  Please email the LPBC office at info@LeadershipPBC.org by April 16th.
