More than 600 attendees came out to the “Songwriters in the Round” events last week to enjoy top-notch songwriters from Nashville and support our Youth Leadership Program.
The sold-out, two-night stand featured five country music songwriters who told stories and sang songs in the “round” on a stage at The Harriet Himmel Theater in West Palm Beach to the delight of attendees sitting around tables just a few feet from the singers. Songwriters included Leslie Satcher, Kent Blazy, Blue Mother Tupelo and Danny Myrick.
The Feb. 26 and 27 event raised thousands of dollars for Leadership Palm Beach County (LPBC)’s Youth Leadership Program, which is free for all high school participants. This nine-month program teaches high school juniors to understand the critical issues facing Palm Beach County while encouraging them to expand their leadership roles and build a life-long commitment to doing public good.
“Songwriters in the Round is one of LPBC's most highly anticipated events and sells out almost instantly – and this year was no exception,” said Tammy Clarke, president of LPBC.
Clarke added: “We are grateful to our songwriters, our sponsors, our volunteers, and our community for supporting this incredibly memorable event that everyone involved won’t forget for a very long time. The turnout was wonderful and it will allow us enhance our Youth Leadership Program and create life-long learning opportunities for the young participants.”
