CityPlace + United Way Host Donation Drive to Support Those Affected by Hurricane Irma

RELATED COMPANIES & UNITED WAY PBC TO HOST DONATION DRIVE AT CITYPLACE TO SUPPORT THOSE AFFECTED BY HURRICANE IRMA


 

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (September 14, 2017) – Related Companies, developer of CityPlace, is working with United Way of Palm Beach County to respond to the needs of those whose lives were torn apart by the impact of Hurricane Irma by hosting a community donation drive for the most urgent essentials.

Donations will be collected at CityPlace from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. starting today, September 14 through Saturday, September 16 at CityPlace, 575 Rosemary Avenue, West Palm Beach (former Macy's building located across from Brio Tuscan Grille). All of the food collected during the three-day drive will be distributed to hundreds of local food pantries and soup kitchens through the Palm Beach County Food Bank in partnership with United Way of Palm Beach County. All other items will be distributed to the appropriate United Way partner agencies. The drive is a cooperative effort between the City of West Palm Beach, United Way of Palm Beach County, Palm Beach County Food Bank, and Related Cos. 

Most needed items are:

· Canned Foods

· Boxed Milk

· Pasta

· Soups

· Baby Food

· Water

· Diapers

· Hygiene and Toiletry Items

· First Aid Supplies

· Hand Sanitizer

· Cleaning Supplies

· Paper Towels

· Fans

· Toilet Paper

On Saturday evening, CityPlace will host a benefit concert from 6:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. on the plaza in collaboration with United Way of Palm Beach County to draw attention to the drive and the need for help.

“The community need following this record-breaking storm is urgent and widespread,” said Gopal Rajegowda, Senior Vice President, Related Cos. “Now is the time for all of us to rally and assist those residents that need help to recover here in Palm Beach County. Even a little donation will make an impact, so we urge everyone who can give to participate in this important effort that will help our friends, neighbors and colleagues rebuild their lives.”
