Who encouraged you to apply for LPBC/How did you get involved in LPBCAfter moving the area at the beginning of the year, I heard that LPBC was a “networking powerhouse.” I wanted to meet and work with dynamic local leaders so I applied for the job opening.

How has LPBC affected you: It has given me a deeper appreciation of the county’s demographic and economic diversity. LPBC has allowed me to broaden my perspective on local issues. Now I open the newspaper, and recognize the names of alumni leaders who affect change and inspire service. LPBC has in many ways given me a backstage pass to goings-on in the county!

What is the best benefit that you have derived from your involvement with LPBC: New mentors and friends!

What you do for a living: Programs and Communications Coordinator at Leadership Palm Beach County.

What you like best about your job: The quick pace and variety! I also feel lucky to work with such an intelligent, good-humored group of people. I enjoy telling the story of Leadership Palm Beach County to the public and trying to capture the energy of this unique organization.

 Your education: B.A. in History from Yale College.

Your civic and community involvement:Two years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Eastern Caribbean, where I focused on childhood literacy and entrepreneur development and mentorship. Hopefully I have many years ahead of me of service within Palm Beach County.

First job: Summer intern at Conde Nast in New York City

What brought you to Palm Beach County: Family and a new great job!

How long have you lived in PBC: 4 months

Favorite way to spend time: Reading the Sunday paper, going out to eat with friends, enjoying the beautiful Palm Beach sunset over Lake Worth.

Mentor: My mom J

Most important lesson you've learned: The value of being a good listener.

Person most interested in meeting: Everyone has a story. I try to learn from each one, and I’m lucky to get to meet individuals every day whose stories fascinate me.

Life motto: A quote by E.M Forster captures it: “Only connect.”

Last vacation: Miami

Place you want to visit: East Asia or the Florida Keys…I think I’ll make it to the Keys first J

Most interesting place you have visited: India

Favorite spot in Palm Beach County: Pretty much anywhere outside with a nice sea breeze.

Favorite TV show: The West Wing

Best decision: To seize every opportunity to travel.

Worst decision: To dye my hair red in college.

Toughest decision: To join the Peace Corps.

 Goal yet to be achieved: To contribute to my new community in Palm Beach County and get involved in service work.
