Who encouraged you to apply for LPBC?

My boss, Ed Mitchell, City Administrator, Class of 1989.


How has LPBC affected you? 

LPBC has offered me a heightened awareness of the needs and tremendous opportunities in this County
.
 

What is your fondest LPBC memory? 

My class orientation “Go Tigers.”

                                              


















 

 

What is something unexpected or surprising that you have derived from your involvement with LPBC?  
The various ways in which one can “easily” serve the community
.

Where do you work and what do you do for a living: 
I work at the great City of West Palm Beach in the Mayor’s Office as the Deputy City Administrator; working with the Commissioners, Mayor and the various departments to offer top notch services to our residents and visitors.


What is your favorite aspect of your job: 
Managing projects and seeing them coming to fruition.


Your education: Bachelors in Management, Masters in Accounting, University of the West Indies, Kingston Jamaica; Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor.

Your civic and community involvement: Leadership Palm Beach County, Boardmember, Audit Committee and Finance Committee; Clarendon College Alumni Association, South Florida Chapter – Scholarship Committee; Good Samaritan Medical Center Governing Board; Palm Beach County Internal Audit Committee.

Your professional/trade industry associations: Government Finance Officers Association, AICPA, Institute of Internal Auditors, Florida County and City Managers Association, Florida Public Pension Trustee Association.

Your family: Husband Randolph, daughter Natalie and son-on-law Christopher Williams.

First job: Public Accounting – Touche Ross – now Deloitte & Touche

What brought you to Palm Beach County: Family

How long have you lived in PBC: 23 years

Where we would find you on a Saturday afternoon: At home

What talent would you most like to have:  A good pianist

What do you consider your greatest achievement: Raising our daughter to become a fine young lady.

Mentor: My high school economics teacher – Mr. Porteus

Who are your real life heroes: My grandparents – the best grandparents in the world.

Most important lesson you've learned: Never take life for granted

Life motto: Persevere & Excel (My high school motto)

Best vacation you have taken: A European tour – visited 8 countries- Switzerland is unforgettable.

Last vacation: July 2012- Southern Caribbean cruise

Place you most want to visit: The Grand Canyon

Most interesting place you have visited: The Panama Canal
