Our New Executive Director Noel Martinez: It’s An Honor To Lead LPBC To The Next Level

March 23, 2017

The new LPBC Executive Director Noel Martinez graduated from our Engage program just three years ago – an experience he describes as “the best personal and professional investment I have made in myself.”

Noel has many great ideas to grow our organization, both internally and externally, and become a key player in Palm Beach County’s thought leadership.

Below, he explains his qualifications for the job, his goals for leading LPBC, and his passion for leadership.

Why did you want to lead LPBC?

Noel: This organization is made up of amazing people. I absolutely fell in love with Leadership Palm Beach County when I went through the Engage program in 2014. I’ll never forget the feeling I had when I sat in the room at orientation and I heard everyone introduce themselves. I thought to myself, how in the heck did I get in?  These people have accomplished so much more than I had. I am so lucky to be here. I still feel the same way almost 4 years later. LPBC is the best personal and professional investment I have made in myself. The people you meet, the friendships you make, are priceless. There’s nothing like it.

I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to lead an organization that I care so much about. Leadership Palm Beach County pushes you to be better. This organization is special. I am so honored to lead the charge to take it to the next level.

What are your qualifications to be the executive director?

Noel: I have over 19 years’ experience in senior management and a proven track record of membership development & revenue generation. I have the ability to lead and develop a team with a history of successfully managing budgets of over $4 million while increasing productivity and reducing costs. I have created innovative ways to grow and maintain fundraising goals in my past work experience and a career-long history of community involvement in Palm Beach County.  My experience in improving operations and increasing revenue in both the private and non-profit sector will enable me to make a positive impact within the organization.

One distinction which makes me a valuable addition to the organization is my passion for Leadership Palm Beach County. Those who know me understand how much I respect being a part of this special group of people.

What motivates you as a leader?

Noel: I am ultra-competitive and have been my entire life. I have always wanted to be the best at everything I do and I enjoy a challenge. I feel great satisfaction when I accomplish a task or achieve a difficult goal. Lastly, I love seeing people grow and having a hand in developing others around me.

What do you want to accomplish at LPBC?

Noel: I have several goals to accomplish at LPBC, both internal and external. I see there’s opportunity to help my team grow and develop into strong nonprofit leaders. I’m striving to advance the organization’s financial status and increase our budget through improved fundraising events and incorporating new programs. With those internal changes, we’ll then be able to reengage many of our alumni by bringing them together on matters that are important to them and the broader PBC community. Lastly, I’d like to see LPBC more involved with the business community and thought leaders across the county.
