Food scarcity in palm beach county is growing at an alarming rate. 57 percent of all students in Palm Beach county are on free or reduced meals. Many elementary schools offer Saturday remedial programs to help in math and reading, but also to give the their students something to eat for the weekend. The goal raise awareness and pack 100,000 meals to supply the local food pantries.

Leadership Palm Beach County presented the 9th Annual Leadership Excellence Award recently to Patrick McNamara, the President and CEO of the Community Partnership Group. Over 330 community leaders attended the award event sponsored by Florida Power & Light and Gunster Attorneys at Law, and celebrated the community contributions of eleven award finalists and nominees – all alumni of Leadership Palm Beach County’s yearlong leadership program.
