Impacting the Community
Leadership Forward is an initiative of each Engage class as an opportunity to collaborate with local nonprofit organizations to execute projects of impact to our local community.
As a program support initiative of Leadership Palm Beach County, Leadership Forward is the initiative that enables each year's Leadership Engage class to give back to our community by partnering with local non-profit organizations on meaningful projects. They are energized to volunteer and help organizations reach the next level of service and success by tackling an issue facing that organization or community. The impact of Engage Forward has historically been significant and of lasting benefit to the participating organizations and the communities they serve.

Current Leadership Forward Projects
Children's Home Society of Florida
The goal of the project is to develop a comprehensive recruitment strategy to attract and retain both Mentors (adult volunteers) and Mentees (youth seeking positive role models). Children's Home Society of Florida aims to create a sustainable mentorship recruitment project by organizing structured, engaging activities that foster stronger relationships between mentors and mentees. The project will also ensure long-term commitment and participation, making mentorship an ongoing, impactful experience for all involved.
Els for Autism
The objective is to design an outreach plan and informational package which includes a process to identify partnerships, promotional opportunities, education, and information on recreational based accessible services in a state-of-the-art recreation complex designed for people with autism and developmental disabilities and those who care for them. The informational package will introduce, educate and provide information on accessible services which are focused on health, safety and wellness of this community. The overarching aim of this project is to connect those in need to the Els facility with the goal of improving their quality of life, enhancing community support, accessing and increasing awareness, understanding, acceptance and inclusion.
Integrated Healthcare Systems
HCS would like to host their first annual Volunteer Day at their new Dignity Village facility. IHCS moved to a bigger campus that is 4 separate buildings with a drop-in center, staff offices, and 10 apartments for clients (30 beds total). Each apartment has 2 bedrooms with either 1 bed or 2 beds per room. The living room, bathroom, and kitchen are shared spaces.
Leadership Class participants are brainstorming ideas on having a grand opening, get donated items for apartments, and/or beautify the campus.
Speak Up for Kids
To develop a Life Skills portal that empowers foster youth to thrive as they transition into adulthood. The portal will cover a wide array of topics providing guidance on essential life skills required for independent adulthood. This includes every day tasks such as doing laundry, obtaining a driver license, college admission process, scholarship applications, studying techniques, time management, housing, military and trade school options, resume building, job interviewing, etc.
See the Impact!
With over 20 years of projects all over Palm Beach County, the impact of these projects on our community is ongoing.
